The film is set in 1881 in Big Whiskey, Wyoming, where
Little Bill Daggett, former gunfighter and the local sheriff, does not permit
guns and criminals in his town. Two cowboys Davey-Boy and Quick Mike. Bunting,
deface prostitute Delilah Fitzgerald after she laughs at the small size of
Quick Mike's penis. Little Bill allows them to pay compensation to the brothel
owner, Skinny Dubois despite punishing the cowboys. The rest of the
prostitutes, led by Strawberry Alice, are furious by this leniency and offer a
$1,000 reward to one who can kill the cowboys. Miles away in Kansas, the
Schofield Kid, an arrogant young man, visits the pig farm of William Munny,
looking to recruit him to help kill the cowboys. In his youth, Munny was a
thief notorious as a cold-blooded murderer.</div>

past, Little Bill beats him and takes him out of the saloon after finding a
pistol on him. The Kid and Logan, upstairs getting advances in kind on their
expense from the prostitutes, run out from a back window. The three rearrange
outside of town, where they nurse Munny to recover.Three days later, they trap
a group of cowboys and kill Bunting. Munny and Logan no longer have much
stomach for murder. Logan chooses to return home while Munny feels they must
finish what they started. Munny and the Kid move to the cowboys' farm, where
the Kid traps Quick Mike in an outhouse and kills him. After they run from
there, a distraught Kid admits he had never killed anyone before. Munny
recommends him to drink more whiskey to numb the pain. The Kid rejects life as
a gunfighter and plans to go home.<o:p></o:p></div>

When Little Sue meets the two men to give them the
prostitute's reward, they come to know that Logan was seized by Little Bill's
men and tortured to death. He had exposed the names of his two partners before
dying, after which his corpse was showed outside the saloon. The Kid moves back
to Kansas to give the reward money to Logan's wife and Munny's children. Munny returns
to town to avenge on Little Bill. That night, Munny arrives and sees that
Logan's body is indeed displayed in a coffin outside the saloon. Inside, Little
Bill has gathered a posse to pursue the Kid and Munny. Munny walks in and kills
Skinny Dubois, the saloon owner. After some tense dialogue, a gunfight ensues,
Bill wounded gets injured and several of his partners die. Just as Bill feebly
lifts his pistol and cocks it, Munny turns back and kicks it from his hand,
killing him. Munny threatens the townsfolk before eventually leaving Big
Whiskey, saying that he will return to exact more vengeance if Logan is not
buried appropriately or if any of the prostitutes are abused.<o:p></o:p></div>

us to look and know how America thinks and feels about itself and its history.
The western genera help explore how men and women fit into the community; and
to look at those external or on the edge of it. Moreover, the fame of any myth
is rooted in its power to reflect and reproduce a society’s values, beliefs and
fears in an edible form. Analyzing and studying the “The High Noon” and
“Unforgiven” enables us to examine the building of a nation and its identity,
patriotism, honor and revenge, male friends and the triumph of good over evil.<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><o:p></o:p></div>

The Western genre was employed to enlighten an
uncharacteristic social problem tale about social responsibility, without much
of the usual frontier violence, or tribes of marauding Indians, or panoramic
landscapes. The film was different from the previous ones. The High Noon
reflected the society of the time. In comparison to the previous films, the
shallow characters were replaced with the more life-like characters. The High
Noon explores themes of duty, integrity and honor among the general
citizenry.  Despite standing alone, leading character stands firm. This
film could possibly be the representation of the harsh burdens of military power

Unforgiven reflects the last phase known as the
contemporary western. In the 1990’s the western was a marginal genre.
Nevertheless, from time to time, a few successful western movies like
Unforgiven emerged, which proved, that the genre is still popular among the
audiences. Costner’s movie can be also seen as a revisionist western, because
it depicts the white male officers in an appalling light, in contrast to the
Native Americans, who are presented as peaceful naïve peoples. The contemporary
western often deals with psychological, gender and social issues as what
Unforgiven reflects. <o:p></o:p></div>

The production of the movies in the 1950’s was different.
The movies were black and white and the sounds were not in advanced form.
Therefore, Unforgiven has come to be more advanced comparing to The High Noon.
Though High Noon was an epic of the time, the direction was perfct, the
Unforgiven was made in the modern lines. The lighting, color and the sound were
more advanced giving it a perfect and actual form. The plot of these two movies
do not vary much as both are reflecting the society of the time. The camera and
camera work are different. With the advancement of technicalities, Unfogiven
shows more realistic videography than that of High Noon. In short, the modern
technical aspects make Unforgiven better to eyes and ears comparing it to the

was basically a farmer in the village of Nillag in the province of
Sistan-O-Balochistan, Iran, was born in 1919. His father’s and mother’s names
were Kamal and Hathun respectively. He had three siblings: two brothers, Ahmad
Shah and Mohammad Shah, and a sister, named Mahathun. Dad Shah married
Noorhathun, who was the daughter of Pir Dad, one of his close relatives. They
were living a happy life in their small world.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

pages of history, we will find that the resistance of Baloch in Iran came as a
result of repression on the Baloch. Baloch believed that Reza Shah was
suppressing their culture in Iran. Similarly, the basic reason of the
resistance of Dad Shah was the calumny that he received as a result of an
appalling plot of Ali Khan, who was the enemy of Dad Shah. Ali Khan Killed his
cousin, Ayub Khan to hold his power in maximum areas. Thus people in his
vicinities went against him and didn’t accept him as the ruler of their areas.
Dad Shah’s family was also against him and wanted to take the revenge of Ayub
Khan since his father was a great supporter of his. In 1944, Kamal, who was the
father of Dad Shah, along with his sons and some other friends, attacked the
fort of Ali Khan. Some of the persons of Mir Ali Khan were killed.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Dad Shah and his family his bloody enemies, Ali Khan wanted to drag his name
through the mire by planning some tricky plots. He along with Abdul Nabi, who
became the enemy of Dad Shah later, planned a plot to send Laluk, the cousin of
Dad Shah, to steal the gun of Dad Shah, which could be a cause of the calumny
for Dad Shah since he had a great honor for his weapon and never let anybody
touch that. Laluk did what he was told. But it was unfortunate for him that he
was captured red handed by Dad Shah. Laluk told the whole story behind his
guilt he committed, as he tried to prove himself guiltless. Unfortunately, when
Mir Ali and Abdul Nabi found that Dad Shah had become aware of their plot, they
spread unexpected word in public that Laluk had unfair relationship with his
wife, which was completely untrue and unbearable to Dad Shah. To remove the
calumny that he received from Mir Ali, he killed his wife and went to mountain
to revenge Mir Ali as it became a matter of shame for Dad Shah to sit silent.
He started attacking the persons of Mir Ali. Finding him a hurdle in his way of
ruling, Ali Khan took the help of the army and requested Shah to fight against
him, saying that Dad Shah could be a hurdle for his reign. Shah accepted his
request and sent army to his area. On the other hand, Dad Shah received support
from Muheem Khan Lashari and Essa Khan Mubaraki to fight against Mir Ali Khan
since they were the bloody enemy of his.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

period, when Rahim Dad, a companion of Dad Shah, was killed by the puppets of
the Shah near Pannuch, Dad Shah sent a letter to the Sardars and other
authorities of Pannuch, saying that he had accepted some their conditions, but
they hadn’t honored their promise by killing his close companion; he would take
the revenge of Rahim Dad and there would not be any Pannuchi, who would survive
in front of the bullets of his gun. Right after this message, Dad Shah attacked
Mulla Nawab, the arch rival of his. Two persons of Mullah Nawab were killed in
the conflict. In the meantime, eight more people were killed in ‘Dihan’. People
blamed Dad Shah and his companions for the killings, but actually the killers
were not known. Because of these killings, Sarwan Khalil Khan Rigi, who was
leading the army to handle the situations of Pannuch, was called by the
government and was made humiliated for he couldn’t handle the situation. Sarwan
Rigi wanted to remove the black mark that he got by the government; therefore,
he planned a plot by sending a message to Dad Shah, stating that he had talked
to the government for mending fence in the area. He asked Dad Shah for sending
some of his friends to get the proposal confirmed. Dad Shah still wanted peace
in those areas; therefore, he sent four of his colleagues- Rustum, Pirdad,
Abdul and Murad to Sarwan Khalil. But Dad Shah wasn’t aware of the conspiracy
of Khalil Rigi. By reaching there, they were arrested as Khalil conspired<o:p></o:p></span></div>

incident, a conflict began between Dad Shah and Zhandar Mari’s army at the
“Barchik” check post in the mountains. Two soldiers of Dad Shah were killed.
From there, Dad Shah went to Pakistani Balochistan.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

faced failure in every step that he took against Dad Shah; hence, he requested
the government to increase the number of the arm forces as well as the weapons;
and he also requested to give arms to chiefs of Lashsari and Mubaraki so that
they could better handle the situations of the areas. The government accepted
the request and provided weapons to the chiefs of Lashari and Mubaraki tribes;
but the fact is that Dad Shah had never attacked their areas (Chaamp and
Ahuran). It was a political plot of Khalil Rigi as he wanted the army to go to
the mentioned areas for the recovery of weapons of the Baloch in order that
they must not be able to go against the Shah. The trick worked, soon the
weapons were recovered.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Shah of Iran, Muhammad Reza Shah went to Pharag (Iranshahr) for a visit. Essa
Khan Mubaraki didn’t want the citizens of his area to meet Shah; however, they
sent a letter to the Shah. They mentioned that Essa Khan Mubaraki and Muheem
Khan Lashari were the supporters of Dad Shah; as a result, Shah called Essa and
Muheem and asked them about Dad Shah, and ordered them to bring the episode of
the insurgency of Dad Shah to a close as soon as possible. They were also taken
into custody but Muheem Khan was released right after two days. Muheem Khan and
Essa Khan became fully aware of the situation; therefore, with broken hearts,
they raised hands towards Zhandar Mari for friendship to fight against Dad Shah.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

26th of March 1957, three Americans along with two Iranians were killed in
‘Tanksarha’, in Iranian Balochistan, which drew the attention of the Iranians
and the Americans towards Dad Shah as the Iranian blamed Dad Shah for killing
three Americans (Kevin Karl, Anita Karl, and Wilson). Many Iranian writers
wrote that on 24th of March 1957, Dad Shah along with his twenty four
companions killed the Americans when they were on the way to Chahbar. The
Iranian newspapers and writers tried to prove Dad Shah a ‘terrorist’. And they
got succeeded. Americans also dubbed him a terrorist. American and Iranian
governments announced a huge amount of money as reward for his head. At the
same time Iranian and Pakistani government agreed to fight jointly against Dad
Shah.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

conflict broke out between Dad Shah and Iranian forces near the border of
Pakistan Balochistan. In this war, young son of Dad Shah was assassinated and
his sister got injured. From there, Ahmed Shah with his sister and children
left them and went to ‘Hung’ to take harbor in a house. Unfortunately, they
were arrested by the Pakistani forces right after reaching there and they were
handed over to Iran.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

this act of Pakistani government, a sense of anger emerged among Baloch, which
later made the government realize the mistake it had made. For the fear of
nationalism in Pakistani Balochistan, the government of Pakistan declared that
it had no role to arrest Dad Shah any longer. When Dad Shah came to know that
his brother and sister along with children had been arrested and handed over to
Iran, the anger of his grew higher for his enemies; he went to Iran to face his
enemies. Right after reaching there, he attacked the house of Din Muhammad, one
of his enemies, where his children got injured.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

continued his struggle against the Shah though he had an army of not more than
thirty to forty. However, it is said that war is never won by weapons and
armies, wining a war depends on the faith of those fighters who are struggling
and fighting for a purpose. The purpose of Dad Shah was to fight for his honor
and later for the people of Balochistan against the reign of Shah of Iran. The
very reason made him so brave that he stood in front of thousands. The
courageous army of Dad Shah killed hundreds of Iranian army; but, at last, the
struggle of the brave warrior of Baloch came to an end as he was deceived by
the tribal chief Mir Muheem Khan by calling him for negotiation for releasing
his brother Ahmad Shah.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

against Mir Ali. Therefore, Dad Shah considered Muheem Khan his friend and
never expected that he would be deceived by him. But, alas! On a rainy day of
October 1957, Dad Shah along with his brother, Mohammad Shah, and some other
companions went to ‘Hashth Koh’ to receive his brother as Muheem Khan had lied
that his brother, Ahmad Shah had been released as a result of the negotiation
between Muheem Khan and the government. While reaching there, Dad Shah realized
that Muheem Khan had lied as his brother was not with them. With anger, he
asked for his brother. Muheem Khan replied him that Ahmad Shah was not feeling
well; therefore, they couldn’t bring him there. In the meantime, the
altercation started between them. During the argument, Muheem Khan took his gun
out and fired at Dad Shah, thus the valor slept forever and left thousands of
Baloch to ponder over the atrocities rendered them adversity.   <o:p></o:p></span></div>

Legend has it that one day when Mir Chakar Rind with his
companions was returning from a day of hunting, they felt thirsty. They stopped
at the town where Murid’s fiancée (Hani) lived. Chakar went to Mir Deenar’s
home and asked for water, there was nobody except Hani.  Hani brought him
clean water in a silver bowl in which she put dwarf palm leaf, properly washed.
Mir Chakar was surprised by the pieces of straw; however, he drank the water
with care so as to avoid swallowing the straw. Seeing this, Mir Chakar got
engrossed in thinking about Hani’s act of putting pieces of straw in the water.
Later, he realized that Hani had acted wisely by putting pieces of straw into
the water. Since he drank water on empty stomach and could be choked by
drinking it in a single gulp. Mir Chakar was so impressed by the act of Hani;
thus he wanted to marry her. He sent Sazen, the courier of Chakar, with the
company of another old woman for selling things but their intention was to pop
the question for Hani to her father. However, Hani was already betrothed to her
cousin Shay Murid; Sazen did her utmost to woo her to leave Murid and marry
Chakar; but her all efforts went in vain as Hani refused and took them out of
her home. It is said that in the meantime, Sazen promised that one day Hani
would surely be the bride of Chakar.   </div>

engagement of Hani and Shay Murid. Sometimes later, Mir Chakar organized a
gathering of nobles as well as poets who shared poetry. At the height of it,
Mir Chakar asked the nobles to make vows on which they must sacrifice their
lives if required. Every chief at the gathering made a promise. Mir Jado
promised that he would chop off the head of anyone who touched his beard at the
assembly of nobles. He was followed by Mir Haibitan, who vowed, if anybody’s
camel joined his camel-herd, he would never give it back. Mir Chakar promised
that he would sit under the shadow of a tree, whosoever chopped it down; he
would never make a move from the shadow of it until it is chopped down. He was
true to his words. At last came the turn of Shay Murid, who promised, if anyone
asked for anything in his possession on Thursday morning, he would give.</div>

Right after a short period, Mir Chakar tested Mir Jado’s
word by asking his young son to touch his father's beard during an assembly of
nobles. The young boy innocently did what he was told. Mir Jado turned his face
and moved the boy, believing that no one noticed; however, Mir Chakar told the
boy to repeat the action. The boy grabbed his father's beard once again. The
entire assembly became silent and looked towards Mir Jado whether he would be
true to his word. Jado, full of anger, unsheathes his sword and smote the head
of his innocent son in the presence of all the nobles. Mir Chakar also found
others true to their words. Now it was time to test Shay Murid, which Chakar
had been waiting for. Chakar sent some minstrels to Shay Murid after offering
prayers on Thursday morning as Chakar conspired to get Hani. He instructed the
minstrels to ask for Hani from Murid as their reward after making him pleased
with the songs of praise. And they did what they were instructed.<o:p></o:p></div>

Shay Murid became completely shocked. He thought, Chakar
would ask for his bow which was unique but Chakar didn’t. With a heavy heart
and sadness, Shay Murid, true to his words, surrendered Hani to Chakar. The
unexpected demand distressed him deeply, and Murid realized that he had lost
Hani. He thought if he had not kept his promise, he would have been mocked at
the exact time as well as in the future.<o:p></o:p></div>

After the annulment of Murid’s engagement with Hani, Hani
was soon married to Mir Chakar. But Murid was so shaken by this turn of actions
that he abandoned his former lifestyle and passed the days and nights in
worship of Allah. Shay Murid couldn’t bear to live in Sivi (Sibi now), the town
of theirs; he decided to leave his native place and followed a group of
mendicant going to perform their pilgrimage (hajj) at the holy cities of Makka
and Madina. He remained there for a long span of time. During this period of
his life; he truly became a mendicant.<o:p></o:p></div>

After spending years away, he returned to Sibi in shabby
clothes with his long hair hanging down to his shoulder. In the company of
beggars, he passed himself off as an unknown mendicant begging for alms at the<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><st1:place style="font-family: 'Bookman Old Style', serif;" w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">palace<span class="apple-converted-space"></span></st1:placetype> </st1:place>of<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><st1:placename w:st="on">Mir
Chakar Rind</st1:placename>.
The maidservant gave bowls filled with grain to each mendicant, but when she
presented this food to Murid, she noticed that his eyes were fixed upon Hani.
Hani recognized him at once but held herself back as not to raise suspicions.<o:p></o:p></div>

To recognize Shay Murid, the Rind nobles gathered for an
archery competition. During the contest, the nobles noticed the interest of
Murid, who was the leader of beggars. At first, the Rind nobles laughed at him
because of his shabby clothes, asking that how a mendicant dressed in torn
clothes could bend a bow and hit a target; however, they gave him a bow and
arrow. He bent the bow but it could not bear the power of his arms and broke
into pieces. They gave him another one which he also broke. After breaking the
third bow, the Rind nobles started realizing that he might be Shay Murid. They
sent someone to fetch Murid’s bow, which was made out of steel and was called
‘jug’ (yoke) because of its form and weight. When it was given to Shay Murid,
he touched and kissed it gently. After examining it perfectly as a master
archer, he bent the bow with great skills and shot three arrows from it which
hit the exact target. The Rind’s suspicion that the beggar was actually Shay
Murid, was confirmed after the experiment with the bow. The Rind nobles stopped
Murid and sent a servant to ask Hani for Murid’s distinguishing signs or marks
which she would know, for the reason that they had played together as children.
Hani told of a mark which was behind his eyebrow. When the Rinds checked the
sign, they, eventually, recognized Shay Murid.<o:p></o:p></div>

Although Mir Chakar married Hani, he was unable to
consummate the marriage.  Later he realized that Hani could never truly be
his. When he found out that Shay Murid had returned, he told Hani that Shay
Murid was a great man and deserved her. Therefore, he divorced her and told her
to go to Shay Murid. Hani decided to go to Murid, the first and only love of
hers. She told him Mir Chakar had realized his mistake and had freed her;
therefore, they (Shay Murid& Hani) could be together. Although it is still
not clear whether they married or not, many believe they married and the same
night they disappeared. But to others, they didn’t marry as they believe Hani
asked for marriage, but Shay Murid told her that he had reached a different
level and cannot step down from that level to take her. Surely, Hani was the
source by which he had reached closer to Allah. Murid was ready to leave her.
On the following day, Murid visited his father’s camel herd, chose a white
she-camel, mounted her, and disappeared from humans eyes. Shay Murid has become
the immortal saint of Baloch, and Baloch believe that until the living world
Shay Murid remains everlasting.       <o:p></o:p></div>

was born in 1468 in Makuran. He was a king of Rind tribe in the 15th century

the kingship of Rind tribe, he along with his colleagues decided to go out of
Makuran for the search of fertile land as the areas of Makran were barren. Mir
Chakar Rind along with almost forty thousand Rinds with thousands of camels and
horses laden with goods left Makuran forever. They kept on traveling,
eventually, they reached at Khuzdar. After some days rest in Khuzdar, Mir
Chakar Rind and his companions started moving towards Kalat’s upper mountains.
They fought successfully against the ruling tribes and took hold of a vast area
from Khuzdar to Kalat. Mir Chakar along with his caravan entered Bolan passing
through hard paths. At last, he reached Dhadar and raised his flag. After
couple of years, Mir Chakar shifted his camps from Dhadar to Sevi (Sibi now).
But his cousin Mir Meeran Rind settled in Dhadar and established his reign
(Sardari) there. Mir Chakar also ruled in Kachchi, before reaching Sibi. After
gaining power in the mentioned areas, Mir Chakar settled in Sevi (Sibi) and
became the only owner there. He ruled Kalat, Kachchi, and Sevi (Sibi) for forty
years. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="line-height: 200%;">Mir Chakar was
widely famous for his bravery; he proved his personal valor in 1496, when he
traveled to Hirat (Afghanistan) to muster support from Sultan Shah Hussain. He
was made to fight a mad elephant and ride a tough horse in Hirat. He succeeded
in all these tests though could not get the support. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

Justice Mari Mir Chakar Rind was leading an army of 40 thousands soldiers, who
were extremely brave and faithful. Sardar Gishkori believed that Chakar Rind’s
army was not less than Mogul horde in term of war; however, they were defeated
by their own bad decision during warfare. Even Baloch historian consider Rind
or Chakarian era as ‘the golden period’ for Baloch, they believe Baloch were in
a position to become a powerful nation in the shape of the world. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

the kingdom of Mir Chakar was short-lived due to 30 years war between Rinds and
Lashars. Mir Chakar and Gwahram Lashari, head of Lashari tribe, went to war
that caused the death of thousands, including Mir Chakar’s brother Mir Sohrab
Khan Rind and Mir Meeran Rind, one of the bravest and devoted commanders of
Rind tribe. Chakar was extremely broken with the death of Mir Meeran. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="line-height: 200%;">Unquestionably,
there was a time when Rinds and Lashars were living jointly with love and
friendliness and stood on the whole for each other to face every hard
situation. Before them, Mir Shayhaq (father of Mir Chakar) and Sardar Nodbandag
Lashari (son of Lashar Khan and father of Gwahram Lashari) helped each other in
every miserable condition till their old ages. But with the passage of time,
differences and misunderstanding among Rinds and Lashars got born and they
became thirsty of each other’s blood; therefore, the long and unexpected war
broke out between them. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="line-height: 200%;">Certainly, the
thirty years war and bravery of Rinds and Lashars became a shining but
destructive part of Baloch history, which turned ‘the Golden period’ of Baloch
into ‘Dark Age’. Today, many believe Rinds’ and Lashars’ 30 years’ war brought
about a serious damage for Baloch as a nation since Baloch fought series of
wars amongst themselves. The result of these tribal conflicts not only caused
large-scale bloodshed but also resulted in their mass migrations; as right
after the last war against Lashars, when Lashars were completely crashed by
Rinds, Mir Chakar Rind along with his caravan once again started wondering from
Sibi to Punjab in about 1511. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

Multan, he requested for help from Langa Sultan but his request was rejected
because of Malik Suhrab Dodai. Thus he couldn’t fully get place to settle in
Multan. Later, he joined the first Mogul king ‘Babar’s’ army. After the death
of Babar, Humayun became the head of Mogul dynasty. Under the command of his
son, Mir Shahdad Khan, Mir Chakar’s forces joined the Mogul army of Emperor
Humayun. As a reward, Humayun endowed Chakar and his son ‘Shahdad’ with
property (Jagir) including horses, slaves and land in the areas of Multan,
Khoshab, and Sahiwal. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

defeat of Mogul dynasty in Delhi by Sher Shah Suri’s forces, Humayun went exile
in Persia in about 1539. After the death of Sher Shah Suri, Suris, under the
command of Saleem Shah Suri, were defeated in 1555 and Humayun regained his
dynasty in Delhi. Mir Shahdad, son of Mir Chakar, supported Humayun in the war
against Suri. In this war, the exemplary roles and bravery of Banadi, sister of
Mir Chakar, and rest of the Rinds are still remembered to thousands. They
played an enormous role by supporting Humayun in gaining his dynasty. As a
result of these victories, Humayun gave land to Mir Chakar and his son, Mir
Shahdad, in the close proximity of Delhi. Many Baloch settled in Farakh Nagar
and Bahadur Gharh, but Mir Chakar himself settled in Sathgharh (Sahiwal
district) and gained power and respect there. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

Mir Chakar ruled Sathghara until he died in about 1565. The companions of Mir
Chakar constructed a tomb for his body in Sathghara. No doubt, Mir Chakar has
been held responsible for the backwardness and destruction of Baloch as a
nation because of his bad decisions especially in term of warfare; but the name
and popularity that he has given to Baloch can never be ignored. In his era,
Balochi oral literature reached its highest peak. Chakar has been considered
among the greatest personalities of 15th and 16th centuries. He will remain be
alive for his bravery and ‘Bahoti’ in the hearts of thousands.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

mid-calf. The simple round neckline is slit at the front of the bodice (<b><i>zi</i></b>)

is the hand embroidery, covering the front of the dress and the cuffs of the
sleeves and trousers. These embroidered pieces of the dress usually include a
fully embroidered bodice (<b><i>jig/zi</i></b>). The piece for the front of the
bodice is square and extends across the entire front from shoulders to waist.
Another rectangular piece (<b><i>Pandol/ koptan</i></b>) extends from the waist
to the hem of the dress and comes to a point at the top; the sides of this
piece are left unstitched so that it can function as a large pocket. This
pocket is the major ethnic marker of Baloch women’s dress. The cuffs of the
sleeves and the trousers are also beautifully embroidered.<o:p></o:p></div>

Another major and traditional sign of a Baloch woman is of
course the large scarf (<b><i>sareg, shar, gushan</i></b>), usually a colorful
embroidered scarf which beatifies the clothing of Baloch women. Traditionally,
strict veiling is not common among Baloch, but Baloch women feel proud to draw
the corners of their scarves across their faces.</div>

No doubt, most Baloch women today wear bright plastic and
other kind of sandals, but the traditional shoes that Baloch women used to
wear, before modern sandals became available, were known as<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><b><i>chakani,<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span></i></b>which were beautifully
embroidered; and in rural areas Baloch women still wear the shoes made of date
or dwarf palm leaves.<o:p></o:p></div>

The Baloch woman’s everyday garb is not completed without
jewelry which usually serves as an indicator of a cultural and traditional
beauty of Baloch women. Most characteristic and impressive jewelries of Baloch
women are earrings, which typically consist of twelve or fourteen small rings
inserted along the rim of each ear from the top of the ear to the bottom of the
lobe. The weight of these rings causes the upper flap of the ear to fall
forward, which is considered a sign of beauty.<o:p></o:p></div>

Commonly, a female baby’s ears are usually pierced for such
a series of small earrings shortly after birth. After marriage a woman may add
huge earrings made of thick pieces of gold (<b><i>durr</i></b>), which are
gifts from her husband’s family. In addition, nose rings (<b><i>bul</i></b>)
and nose pins (<b><i>pulli</i></b>) are very popular, as are heavy necklaces and
bracelets (<b><i>daste kangar</i></b>). Traditionally, all females braid their
long hair and tie the bottom of each braid with a single multicolored tassel (<b><i>sagi</i></b>)
made of many small glass beads and yarn pompons.<o:p></o:p></div>

Although Baloch men clothes are less colorful than that of
women, men’s clothing is still characterized by <span style="line-height: 200%;">special features that immediately identify the wearer as
Baloch. The traditional costumes worn by Baloch men are usually of white,
creamy, or khaki cotton, but historically only a white shirt and pajamas were
worn, with which the colorful embroidered vest makes a striking contrast. The
trousers are extremely wide, hanging in folds between the legs. They are drawn
in to a waistband and are tapered at the ankles. The loose shirt reaches to the
knees or even lower and worn over the trouser.</span></div>

round neckline with a buttoned opening on one shoulder. The more modern
neckline has a collar and a buttoned opening down the front to the waist. Men,
in colder regions, used to wear fully embroidered jackets over this basic
costume. Moreover, the headgear of men consists of a piece of cloth wrapped as
a turban, or a cap in some of the regions of Balochistan. The traditional caps
are mostly embroidered and a number of small glittering pieces of mirror are
incorporated into the intricate designs. Boys and young men wear only these
caps in some regions whereas older men add huge white turbans (<b><i>pag</i></b>),
each of light cotton cloth, many meters long. The specific method of wrapping
these turbans further serves to distinguish some regions’ people from another,
as in Makuran black colored, red at the corner, shawl is worn as headgear
rather than white.</div>

 Also, perhaps the best-known type of Baloch footwear
is the heavy sandals produced by men in hundreds of small shops throughout
Balochistan; the tops are of heavy leather and the soles cut from old
automobile tires, which are excellent for walking on rough desert or mountain
and are comfortable in town as well. In the hot areas the traditional footwear
made from palm fronds, which is known as<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><b><i>Bazbani</i></b>,
can still be seen though it is no longer worn in the cities in particular.<o:p></o:p></div>
